My story

I am Carolina Andrea Tapia Millán, a lawyer registered with the Orihuela Bar Association, founder of CT ABOGADA, a mother, and someone who has always seen the practice of law as a vocation rather than simply a profession.
Every person who walks through the doors of my office entrusts me with far more than a legal file. They entrust me with part of their story, their plans, their concerns and sometimes their most cherished memories. That trust is a privilege that I strive to honour every single day.
I was born on 11 March 1984 in Valparaíso, Chile, and I hold both Chilean and Spanish nationality. I am proud of my Hispanic American roots, which have shaped not only my identity but also the way I understand people and my profession.
I am the daughter of Ismael Tapia and Margarita Millán, two Chileans who emigrated in search of a better future for their family. At just eight months old, I moved with my parents to Renens, in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It was there that I grew up and where many of the values that continue to guide my professional life today were formed.
Switzerland gave me far more than a bilingual upbringing in Spanish and French, later complemented by English. It instilled in me a culture of excellence: a commitment to doing things properly, precision, organisation, punctuality, discretion and respect for one's word. These are qualities traditionally associated with Swiss culture, and they remain at the heart of the way I practise law today.
Chile, however, gave me something equally valuable.
In Chile, the earth reminds us constantly that nothing remains completely still. Engineers do not build structures to resist movement through rigidity; they design them to absorb it, adapt to it and remain standing when everything around them seems to shake. That philosophy has stayed with me throughout my life.
It taught me that true strength lies not in resisting change, but in adapting intelligently to it. Whatever the circumstances, there is almost always a way forward when one takes the time to understand the situation, anticipate difficulties and build thoughtful, lasting solutions.
Like many families who have experienced emigration, we learned from an early age the value of hard work, perseverance, adaptability and resilience. My family history profoundly shaped who I am. Above all, it taught me that before there is a legal matter, there is always a person, a family and a life story.
When I was fourteen, my parents chose to settle permanently in Spain to enjoy their retirement on the Costa Blanca. It was here that I completed my education and obtained my Law Degree from the University of Alicante. Today I practise as a member of the Orihuela Bar Association under registration number 1739.
Spain has given me far more than the country where I practise law. It is my home. It is where I have built my life, raised my family and founded CT ABOGADA, surrounded by orange groves, almond trees and the Mediterranean Sea.
I deeply admire this country, its way of life, its culture and its history. I firmly believe that Spain and the Hispanic American world share a common heritage that deserves to be viewed with pride, gratitude and mutual respect. That dual sense of belonging forms an essential part of who I am and naturally shapes the way I welcome every client with openness, respect and understanding.
Before founding my own firm, I had the privilege of training alongside highly respected legal professionals, including the law office of Antonio Pérez de la Cruz Moreno, Euroteam Consultores & Asesores, the Notarial Office of José Pérez Juan, the Department of Private International Law at the University of Alicante, and Pellicer & Heredia Abogados. Each of these experiences contributed to the lawyer I have become today.
CT ABOGADA was founded in 2015.
This boutique, owner-led law firm is the result of years of dedication, perseverance and a deeply held conviction: that legal services should be delivered differently.
I never wanted to build a practice where files simply moved from one professional to another. Instead, I chose to create a firm where every client has a single point of contact from the very first meeting until the successful completion of their matter.
I firmly believe that no two cases are ever the same. Every client deserves careful reflection, a tailored legal strategy and truly bespoke advice, crafted with the same care and attention that a master craftsman devotes to creating a unique piece.
Inheritance matters hold a particularly special place in my practice. They often arise during periods of grief, uncertainty and emotional vulnerability. Behind every estate there is much more than property or assets; there are families, memories, relationships and, sometimes, wounds that require both legal expertise and genuine sensitivity.
My role goes beyond ensuring legal certainty. It is also about listening carefully, understanding each family's circumstances and finding thoughtful, practical and, when appropriate, creative solutions that protect my clients' interests while preserving harmony whenever possible.
I believe that an outstanding lawyer is distinguished not only by legal knowledge but also by the ability to listen, explain clearly, provide reassurance and help people make informed decisions with confidence.
Becoming a mother profoundly changed the way I practise law. Motherhood has taught me patience, humility, attentive listening and the importance that even a single decision can have on the life of a family.
The way a lawyer practises often says far more about them than any résumé ever could.
The values that define CT ABOGADA go well beyond the ethical obligations of the legal profession. Integrity, honesty, empathy, humility, transparency and an unwavering commitment to finding the fairest solution guide every decision I make, both professionally and personally.
I have always believed that some professions are driven more by vocation than by career choice. For as long as I can remember, using my knowledge to help others, bringing clarity where uncertainty exists and standing beside people during some of the most significant moments of their lives has given profound meaning to my work.
In May 2024, CT ABOGADA moved to its new offices in Almoradí, in the heart of the Vega Baja region. A more accessible, welcoming and comfortable environment that reflects the same philosophy behind my practice: ensuring that every client feels heard, understood and supported.
If you are looking for a lawyer who will take the time to understand your story, explain every step with clarity and protect your interests with professionalism, integrity and genuine personal commitment, then CT ABOGADA was created precisely to provide that kind of legal guidance.

Carolina has been acting for me since I bought my apartment in Spain in 2017. She prepared all the purchase documents and my Spanish Will in a most professional and courteous manner and I have always found her to be pleasant, efficient and honest which I regard as an essential characteristic in a lawyer. Her language skills are much appreciated and make everything easier to understand. I am now in the process of instructing her to act in the sale of my apartment which has become necessary because of the pandemic and I do so with confidence that everything will be done properly.
